4H Final Benefit

On 25 February, we celebrated the fun four months of our 4H club coming to an end. All of the 4H girls, including our staff Melissa and Mr. Force, piled into ‘Big Red’ around noon and headed down the dirt road toward St. George. When we got to St. George, the excitement in the van increased and our stomachs started to rumble. We all held our breath as we turned into a parking lot and saw the big red and gold sign reading ‘Golden Corral’. We all went inside, and as soon as we could, grabbed plates. There was pizza, rolls, brownies, cakes, cookies, ice cream, salad, fries, fruit, and lots more being devoured by the 4H girls. After we were all finished eating, we waddled out to the van and waved goodbye to ‘Golden Corral’.

Next, we went to the 4H Extension Office where we made the cutest blankets to send to people struck by disaster in Haiti. As we worked, we socialized. There was a lot of laughing and a lot of singing too. I know for a lot of us, we had tons of fun and felt amazing to be doing something for others in need. We made about nine blankets in the short time we had, and after we were done, we once again piled into ‘Big Red’ and headed back to the Ranch. I think that today was possibly the best way to end our amazing club, which we have all loved being a part of for the last four months. I know for me personally, I was thrilled to be part of such a fun and charitable event!
