Girls Birthday Benefit!

On Monday, Betsy, Tayleigh, Melissa, Meredith, LaRisa, Payton, Becca, and Lexa celebrated the April and May birthdays on girls’ campus. This lucky group of girls went to go see the movie “How to Train Your Dragon” in 3D. It was an inspirational story about a boy who knows what he believes in seems weird to everyone else, but he still stands up for what he believes in no matter what. By the end of the day, these birthday girls were definitely worn out from all the excitement: The van ride on the way back to the Ranch was noticeably quieter than on the way to the movie theater. Payton, one of the birthday girls, said, “I was going to go see this movie at home, so I was really excited when I found out we were going to see it because I had wanted to for awhile. It was really cool, especially because we got to see it in 3D!”

Do you think they're excited??? :)

BoY’s aFTeRNooN oUT

The Outdoors Club spent a beautiful afternoon fishing at the upper pond. They used this time to relax and reflect on a “hard day’s work”. In a way, it was “boy’s afternoon out”. Jon shared his reasons for being in Outdoors Club: “I enjoy being outdoors and near the water, and I especially enjoy the adrenaline rush when I hook the fish!” Right after his interview, Jon actually caught a fish which he was very proud of!

W.O.W.

“RiPPeD!” “YoKeD!” “JaCKeD!” The boys in Weightlifting Club are working very hard to achieve exactly this. They are putting the new bench presses and squat racks to good use in this endeavor. The boys also use pull-up bars and many other resources available to them in the weight room to achieve their weightlifting goals. The task of taking pictures and blogging about Weightlifting Club has left the Media Club boys quite jealous.

HomeMade Peanut Butter Cups

The Arts & Crafts Club recently made HoMeMaDe PeANuT BuTTeR CuPs. It was messy, but lots of FuN! The girls would like to thank their staff for planning this activity and taking the time to teach them.

Arts & Crafts

The members of the girls’ Arts & Crafts club have been intently working on their canvas paintings.  They planned for about a week and then finally started to spill their ideas out onto blank white canvas with their new paint brushes and acrylic paints, which were generously donated by one of the girls’ parents.  The painting has created an identifiable relaxed atmosphere in the club during this week, allowing the girls to just hang out and let their creativity flow.

Happy Birthday Boys!

For the boy's birthday benefit, they chose to go to an all-you-can-eat buffet, and swim at Sand Hollow!  Isn't there some rule about swimming less than 2 hours after you eat?  :)
