L.O.V.E. Samz Club

Small Animal Management (SAMz) Club has been feeding, watering, and tending the various small animals who call the Ranch home: Goats, sheep, horses, pigs, and dogs.  The members of this club go out each day after school to take care of these small animals.  Cameron said, “SAMz is a really awesome club!”  The boys are really dedicated to taking care of the animals and giving them a little TLC.  Lately, they have been working on a technique called “leading” with the somewhat stubborn sheep.  And with a lot of hard work, the boys have met with some success.

Weight Training

Walk into the Weight Room during after school club time and you will be greeted by both the sound and smell of hardworking boys at Diamond Ranch Academy.  From 3 to 5pm, this group of boys lifts weights while getting into shape.  Sometimes Brigham stops by to teach the guys new techniques and circuits.  There is a stereo in the Weight Room so the boys can jam out while “getting jacked”.  Connor proudly announced, “This is the best club ever!”

Boys’ Birthday Benefit

What do Duke, Christian, Sasha, Peter, Reece, Khalid, William, Adam, Ren, and Zach all have in common?  Each of these lucky birthday boys got to attend this month’s birthday benefit!  This group of boys left the Ranch around 11:30am to head into St. George for an all-you-can-eat lunch at Golden Corral.  After lunch the boys headed across town to the Sand Hollow Aquatic Center to go swimming.  The SHAC has a giant two-story water slide that the boys had a great time going down about a million times.  It was also very entertaining watching the boys try to out-do each other with a variety of flips and jumps off the diving board.  The boys had a great time and were really grateful for a day of fun to celebrate their birthdays!

What's new in Drama?

Cramping hands, constant acting, and continuous practices … The boys of DRA’s Drama Club work hard, under Jordan’s careful direction, to perfect their skills.  They study and perform the art of acting while also getting the chance to write their own plays, storylines, and much more.

Update from Samz Club

Small Animal Management (SAMz) Club is a new club for animal lovers at Diamond Ranch Academy.  Students get the chance to feed, water, walk, and take care of the animals that live on the Ranch including pigs, goats, chickens, sheep, miniature horses, alpacas, and rabbits.  “It gives us the opportunity to learn about these animals and it’s fun taking care of them” said David, one member of the club.
