Halloween Costumes

On Thursday, October 28th, girls’ campus had a “Girls’ Night In” and made home-made Halloween costumes.  The girls constructed everything from Disney characters, to Batman, and even Dr. Seuss’ Thing 1 and Thing 2.  The finished products were presented “fashion show style”, complete with runway and all, at the Halloween party.

New Clubs at DRA

New clubs have begun at Diamond Ranch Academy! DRA is now offering a variety of clubs on girls’ and boys’ campuses. The current clubs on girls’ campus are Basketball, Art, SAMz, Drama, and Media. And the boys have Basketball, Wrestling, Weight Lifting, Golf, Drama, and Media. Drama Club is now filled with lines from Shakespeare and is anxiously anticipating this year’s Shakespearean Festival in Cedar City. SAMz (Small Animal Management) Club is busily tending to the many animals we have on the Ranch. The Art Club has already done chalk murals outside of the girls’ big building and will also be learning several other crafts such as painting, drawing, and ceramics.

Parent 201 Workshop

On Saturday, October 23rd students and parents had the chance to experience together many of the challenges new students face in the initial O&A component of the program at Diamond Ranch Academy.  They were given the opportunity to attempt the bow drill and even do an O&A cart walk together.  One of the most fun parts of this workshop was the drum session where families learned unity and teamwork.  Students also performed several song and dance numbers they had been practicing in Music Class especially for their parents.
