Girls’ and Boys’
have separated, but equally fun Crochet Clubs. Aside from the normal afternoon spent crocheting, the girls have been busy decorating for St. Patrick’s Day. They decorated and colored four-leaf clovers to hang up around the girls’ big building. The guys in Crochet Club over on boys’ campus are equally talented. Some of their favorite things to make are backpacks and beanies. Check out their handiwork! Campuses Diamond Ranch Academy

There was a big group for the boys’ Birthday Benefit today. The guys gathered in the cabin and then hopped in the van to head down to Golden Corral, an all-you-can-eat buffet, with Robbie, Cody, and Betsy. Two guys decided to switch things up, starting lunch with dessert first: One had a brownie sundae and the other an ice cream cone. They had everything you can imagine for lunch from burgers, fries, homemade potato chips, and pizza to ice cream, cookies, brownies, and pie. Their favorite drinks were Sprite and Root Beer. After lunch, the guys jumped (well, maybe not on such full stomachs…) back in the van and went to see Johnny Depp’s new cartoon movie, “Rango”. “It was an intense cartoon!” exclaimed one of the birthday boys. All in all, it was a great day and the guys were super respectful.

This week in Outdoors Club, the boys hiked to a waterfall that boarders the Ranch property. It was a magnificent experience for all who were involved! On a trail leading from the backside of the girls’ big building, beautiful landscape can be seen in every direction. The season’s snow has even capped the mountain tops that are visible from the dorms.
The other day, the boys chose to go fishing in the lower pond that is seasonally stocked with trout. Only a couple of the guys caught fish. Maybe next time!
