The boys are working hard lifting weights to get ripped! Many are sweating a ton, getting ready for the upcoming football season. It’s definitely a hit on boys’ campus! The guys in Weight Lifting Club lift free weights, work out on the machines, and also bench press. Keep pumping iron guys!

April’s birthday benefit for the girls was held on April 20. Six ecstatic girls attended: Brianna, Macee, Sophia, Devney, Taylor, and Devree. The girls’ decision was to go out to eat at one of the best restaurants in town … that’s right … Golden Corral! Everything you eat there makes you feel like you’ve won the golden medal! After filling our tummies with a delicious variety of lunch items and, of course, dessert, we decided on going to a movie. Being indecisive, Robbie and Betsy helped us decide on the new animated movie
Rio. Not just Rio, but Rio in 3D! Yeah, that means the awesome 3D glasses! We all loved it! What’s not to love about a movie starring two lovebirds?! After dancing in the isle during the end credits, we decided to call it a day and headed back to the Ranch. What a fun day; happy birthday girls!

DRA Drama Club participated in the 1A-2A state drama festival. The state format does not rank the students in the placement of 1st, 2nd, 3rd. Instead, they compete for “superior” ratings. The following are our results:
Ashley Pate, Dominic Nudo, and Joe Kropshodt in “The Foreigner”
Two Superior ratings (one of them straight superior) and one excellent rating
Austin McFadden, Eli Rosenbaum, and Nick Nicola in “The Boys Next Door”
Three Superior ratings a.k.a. Straight Superiors!
The judges were mostly SUU students and professors, so our group did very well in earning superior ratings from them.
Great Job! Congratulations!

Cooking Club was in the kitchen whipping up a big batch of cookies for the students at
this afternoon. These treats are “deliciously quick and simple” chef Kimball says. Boys and girls alike always enjoy these tasty snacks. Not only do these girls help cook and prepare food, they also spend time making sure the kitchen is a clean place to cook in. Everyone thanks the girls in Cooking Club for all they have been doing for the students at DRA! Diamond Ranch Academy
